Work of Kenyan partner Tasaru Ntomonok Initiative is featured by BBC

The BBC video features the rescue center and school run by Donor Direct Action partner Tasaru Ntomonok Iniative (TNI) for girls fleeing their families to escape female genital mutilation or forced marriage in the Maasai community of Kenya.

Although FGM is outlawed in Kenya for girls under 18, in the Maasai culture it is deeply entwined with traditions. Many families still see it as a necessary rite of passage for a girl to become a woman.
