Afghanistan partner facilitates meeting between Afghan women partners and the head of UN Women

Najia Karimi (left), Executive Director of the Donor Direct Action partner organization Humanitarian Assistance for the Women and Children of Afghanistan (HAWCA), with Phumzile Mlambo Ngcuka, Executive Director of UN Women. The meeting, on 20 July 2016 in Kabul, was to discuss the work, challenges, achievements and strategic direction of Afghan NGOs working for the elimination of violence against women. A number of courageous women survivors of violence, who are in women protection centers in Afghanistan such as those run by HAWCA, spoke about their lives, their struggles and resistance.
